Help Ben keep multi-layer plastic from landfills!
Hi, I am Ben, a freshman at Eastlake High School who is concerned about the climate crisis. I’m organizing a free pickup of multi-layer plastic on Mon, 1/20 from homes in 98074 & 98053, with the help of Ridwell who will get it turned into innovative drainage material. Please sign up and spread the word to neighbors so we can make our community a better and less wasteful place!
Register by 8 pm on 1/15/25
"With the climate clock constantly ticking and now sitting at just four years, I want to make as much of a difference as I can.”
- Ben, 9th grader at Eastlake HS
How it works
Collect your multi-layer plastic
This includes many types of flexible, food packaging, none of which can be recyled curbside (see all the details here). Collect it in a plastic bag (which will also be recycled!).
Leave it on your porch
On pickup day, just leave your bag on your porch (or another visible spot) by 8 am and label it “Ridwell.” Ben will come pick it up and bring it to Ridwell!
We’ll make sure your stuff gets recycled
Rather than spend 5,000 years in a landfill, Ridwell’s partner will give your multi-layer plastics new life as leach-free drainage material that can be used instead of PVC pipes!
Let’s clean up 98074 & 98053!
